Abduction

To move an arm or leg away from the center of the body, opposed to adduction.

Acute

A disease or a condition with a rapid onset and a short, severe course.  Opposed to chronic.

Adduction

To move an arm or leg toward the centre of the body. Opposed to abduction.

Adhesions

The union between tissue surfaces usually found either side of a wound following surgery.

Anterior

The front of the body, opposed to the posterior.

Arthroscopy

A surgical technique employed to inspect, diagnose or repair tissues within a joint using tube-like apparatus.

Asymptomatic

A condition or disease which produces no symptoms.
