1. Will I have to travel to Windsor for my appointment?
Doctors Chambers will endeavour to instruct the nearest expert most convenient to you. We will, as default, look to instruct an expert closest to your home.
2. What happens if I do not attend my appointment?
If you miss or cancel your appointment at short notice, you could be liable for a cancellation fee. If you think you may not be able to make your appointment, please contact the expert as soon as possible. Alternatively, you can contact us on the number provided in your letter, please have your reference number ready.
3. What happens if I am unhappy with the instructed medical expert?
If, for whatever reason you’re not happy with the medical expert we have instructed, please contact your solicitor / insurer directly.
4. Why can’t my own GP write my report?
You report needs to be compiled by an independent expert so to avoid any conflict of interest. This means that you cannot be examined by either your GP or any consultant who may have previously treated you.
5. What should I do with my personal injury questionnaire?
You will be sent a personal injury questionnaire along with written confirmation that we have instructed a General Practitioner to examine you. Please complete this as soon as possible while all the details are fresh in your mind and give it to the expert when attending your appointment. 6. Why do I have to release my medical records?
Your medical records may be required by the expert in order to confirm your medical history, particularly if you have had a severe injury.
